Blog #7: Contrast Scale

 In this week's lesson, we talked mainly about rhythm 

  • Progression, repetition, transition, contrast, radiation, and gradation are all different forms of rhythm. 
    • Progression
      • When every part of the rhythm becomes more or less of something
    • Repetition
      • When a sequence is repeated
      • Tends to create a sense of stability
    • Transition
      • smooth movement throughout a space
    • Contrast
      • Object used next to another that is different in color, size, or shape
      • Creates movement
      • types
        • smooth vs rough
        • shiny vs dull
        • light vs dark
        • round vs square
    • Radiation
      • A rhythm that goes around a circle. 
    • Gradation
      • Hue from lighter to darker
      • larger to smaller
  • Proportion/ scale 
    • size of objects and how they fit together
    • makes balanced and comfortable.
